According to his Spotify account, Joyner grew up in East Baltimore.Though it is not mentioned in the announcement made by county police, Joyner \u201cknew somebody very well who was living there\u201d at the place of the shooting according to his lawyer, Larry Greenberg.In 2019, Joyner sued the Baltimore City Police Department, alleging a city police officer used excessive use of force against him during a routine traffic stop he had nothing to do with.Earlier this year, Baltimore City settled the lawsuit Joyner filed against them by awarding him $40,000 to \u201cavoid the expense, time, and uncertainties of litigation\u201d according to a city legal memo.\u201cHe was a good kid,\u201d Joyner\u2019s lawyer, Greenberg, said.Greenberg represented Joyner in the lawsuit against the city. Greenberg described how his client had interest in becoming a lawyer, following his lawsuit with the city.\u201cWhile he was disappointed with the process in what the police department allowed and what they did, he was intrigued with the law aspect and he indicated he would actually like to get into law,\u201d Greenberg said.Joyner\u2019s family is described as a \u201ctight-knit\u201d unit by Greenberg. With police trying to piece together the ongoing investigation into the fatal incident, Joyner\u2019s family is asking anyone with answers regarding their deceased family member to come forth.Anyone with information or knowledge regarding the shooting incident that took place in Essex can call 410-307-2020 to speak to detectives.
