WHO WE ARE

After graduating from the University of Baltimore School of Law in 1966, Magna cum laude and third in his class, founder Henry Greenberg, clerked for the Honorable William J. O'Donnell in the Circuit Court for Baltimore City.

After leaving his clerkship, he worked in the Baltimore City Solicitor's Office and then moved into private practice and has been protecting Maryland families ever since.

After practicing for over 54 years, Henry retired, and Larry Greenberg has taken over the firm. Since becoming an attorney, Larry strives not only to expand the practice; he continually tries to improve the legal profession.

Despite having a busy practice that focuses on clients who have been seriously injured as a result of an automobile crash, medical malpractice, police brutality, truck or motorcycle crashes, or by a defective product, Larry is extremely active in bar associations throughout Maryland. He is past president of the Maryland Association for Justice (MAJ), where he served on multiple committees and sections.

Larry is also an adjunct professor at the University of Baltimore School of Law. Larry was a Captain and Legal Officer JAG of the Maryland Defense Force, where he provided legal support for the Maryland Army National Guard and the Maryland Air National Guard.

MARYLAND PERSONAL INJURY & CAR CRASH LAWYERS

When you are suffering from an injury after an accident in Maryland, the thought of having to file and pursue a personal injury claim can be daunting.

It is critical that you speak with an experienced injury attorney to learn your rights and legal options. A skilled attorney will advocate for fair financial compensation to cover the damages you suffered because of your injury, including your medical bills, lost wages and advancement opportunities at work, and your pain and suffering damages.

In Maryland, you have three years from the date of your accident to file a personal injury claim. It is in your best interest to work with a personal injury lawyer immediately to protect your rights and ensure you get justice. While you focus on your physical recovery, your lawyer can work hard to seek a fair settlement with the insurance provider involved in your case. If the insurance company doesn’t fairly address your case, we will take them to court.

When you are searching for the right accident lawyer to handle your case, keep the following in mind to help you determine the best fit for your claim. Generally, the best personal injury lawyers fit the following:

  1. Is experienced to fight the big insurance companies.

  2. Is willing to listen to you and treat you like family.

  3. Is willing to work with medical or other experts to ensure your case is properly handled.

  4. Is willing to go to court.

If you suffered a serious injury, it is very important that you work with a lawyer who has experience with personal injury claims for serious injuries like paralysis, amputations, and permanent brain damage. You will likely seek compensation to cover the damages that will follow you for years, possibly the rest of your life, and you need a lawyer who has a proven track record of securing this type of compensation.

Not all personal injury cases are resolved through a settlement between the claimant and the negligent party’s insurance provider. When a case cannot be resolved this way, the claimant needs to file a lawsuit to have the case heard and ruled upon in court. When you choose a lawyer to handle your claim, choose a lawyer who has experience litigating cases for his or her clients.

Each court throughout Maryland is unique, so be sure to work with a lawyer who has worked with the local courts before. This way, he or she will be equipped to anticipate issues that can arise and know how to work well with the specific court where your claim is handled.

Another benefit to working with a lawyer who has specific experience pursuing cases like yours in Maryland is his or her knowledge of previous similar cases and his or her professional network. A personal injury lawyer in Maryland should be familiar with local healthcare providers and other professionals who can provide useful information to support your claim, like an accident reconstruction specialist.

A local lawyer should also be familiar with local law enforcement, which could also come in handy if you need to get in touch with the officer who investigated your crash.

If you Can’t Make it to your Lawyer’s Office, They Should be Able to Get to you

When you are suffering from an injury, it can be difficult to get yourself to a lawyer’s office. Depending on the type of injury you are facing, this could even be impossible. When you are suffering from an injury, you should not have to get yourself to a lawyer’s office for your initial consultation or at any other point in the personal injury claim process.

The best injury lawyers know this and meet their clients where the clients can meet them, which could be in the clients’ homes, offices, or other reasonable locations. Do not be afraid to ask your lawyer if he or she will travel to meet you in a specific location to discuss your case.

POLICE BRUTALITY CASES IN MARYLAND

Sometimes, people feel an attorney is an unnecessary expense if they have a video or witnesses to support their claims of assault by law enforcement officers. Victims are usually unaware that Maryland has very strict guidelines that must be followed precisely to avoid dismissal of their police brutality cases. Our attorneys have a thorough knowledge of essential guidelines and deadlines that will affect your case of police brutality. In the wake of ongoing police violence and killings of Black people, Larry Greenberg was appointed as Vice-Chair of Maryland Association for Justice’s Civil Rights and Constitutional Law Section. This Section is dedicated to the protection and expansion of the civil rights of all citizens in the State of Maryland. Section lawyers fight the persistent and systemic injustice caused by police and correctional misconduct, unlawful discrimination, and all forms of government wrongdoing.  The Section will maintain a particular focus on underserved and underprivileged populations.

The Baltimore police brutality lawyers at Greenberg Law Offices have the knowledge, experience, and legal skills that are essential elements for a comprehensive representation of victims of police brutality cases.

Excessive Force by Maryland Police Officers and Other Members of Law Enforcement

In the past few years, there have been many high-profile police brutality cases. In 2019, our firm and Hansel Law continued to achieve justice for Daquan Wallace when a Baltimore City jury awarded $25 million stemming from a 2014 incident where at least three correctional officers allowed gang members to attack Wallace while he was a detainee at the Baltimore City Detention Center in 2014. Because of the corruption at the Detention Center, Gov. Larry Hogan promptly ordered the immediate closure of the facility, which a federal probe revealed in 2013 as being riddled with corruption, from smuggling to sex between inmates and guards. While our firms continue to fight for Mr. Wallace and his family, the State maintains its battle to ensure that he and his family are denied justice.

The Maryland Police Misconduct Lawyers at Greenberg Law Offices

If you have suffered physical or emotional trauma due to excessive force used by Maryland law enforcement officials, contact us immediately for a free consultation. One of our Maryland police misconduct lawyers will return your call promptly to discuss your case, your rights, and your options.

It can be challenging for victims of police misconduct to get justice. Sometimes, witnesses to the incident fear coming forward, and the physical signs of police brutality may disappear by the trial date. Even though the physical wounds may heal, emotional trauma, such as PTSD, can continue indefinitely.

Cases of excessive force frequently occur at:

  • Sobriety checkpoints
  • Traffic stops
  • Areas in and around public bars and restaurants
  • University sports events and celebrations
  • Protest and demonstration gatherings/marches

MEDICAL MALPRACTICE LAWYERS

The medical malpractice lawyers at the Greenberg Law Offices have handled hundreds of cases involving medical negligence and have experience with nursing home abuse and therapist abuse cases.

Have You Been Injured Due to the Negligence of Medical Professional?

Any medical professional must operate within recognized standards of practice or be subject to a lawsuit. At the Greenberg Law Offices, our Maryland medical malpractice attorneys can help you with:

The Greenberg Law Offices also represents clients who need to bring the following types of claims:

  • Inappropriate sexual contact with a patient
  • Refusing to provide treatment because of no insurance
  • Failure to fully inform a patient of risks of a procedure before surgery
  • Failure to monitor a condition
  • Failure to order tests that would have diagnosed a condition
  • Failure to hospitalize a suicidal patient
  • Failure to take away a driver’s license from someone whose illness makes them a danger to themselves or others

Medical Malpractice Law

To establish liability and recover damages in a medical negligence case, you must prove that the medical professional breached the standard of care that others in the profession would employ in the same or similar circumstances. This often requires the use of an expert to testify about the appropriate standard and how the doctor, therapist, nurse, and others failed to meet that standard.

In Therapist Abuse Cases, the Law Is Clear

Therapists may not have sexual contact with their patients. It is a violation of the bond of trust that must be maintained between a therapist and his or her patients. It is also referred to as an abuse of transference. This clear prohibition is established by the ethical guidelines of the American Psychiatric Association.

“Larry is a fantastic attorney. I have used him on various occasions and he has had everything dropped. I have numerous friends and family who have used him and in the end, it turned out well for them as well. On a personal note, I consider him a friend and he is very personable with all. Attorney (Retired)
Is there anyway to either remove or lessen a felony charge from 10 years ago?: I hit my ex with a car in October 2008 where I received a assault charge. Which on my record say nolle pros. This charge is preventing me from being able to do almost anything. I have no other charges and have not been in any trouble since 2008.

Lawrence’s answer: If the case was dismissed, or nolle prossed, then you should be able to have it expunged. There are other restrictions that could apply, so you need to go to the site to review how to do this: https://www.courts.state.md.us/district/dctcivf…

My husband was arrested for physically putting his hands on me. He got arrested & charged with 1st degree & 2nd degree assault. : He choked me twice, slapped me, spit in my face, then he went & got a bat & brought it upstairs & came at me like he was going to hit me with it. I called the police because I was in fear for my life. He has no past criminal record or domestic violence records. He is currently still being held in jail. So what is going to happen to him?

Lawrence’s answer: If you testify to the facts above, he could be convicted of the charges. If he has defenses, he could use them at trial. It is important that he is fully aware of the proceedings and should hire an attorney.

The fact that he has no prior record will help during the sentencing.

I had a break in into my car. The suspect was arrested and i received a subpoena to testify in court. Is it mandatory?: What legal ramifications will i face if i do not attend for personal reasons?

Lawrence’s answer: If you don’t go to court, the suspect/defendant will be found not guilty. If you simply can’t go on the first date for personal reasons, call the prosecutor and let them know. They may postpone the case and reschedule the trial date.
