Although some car accidents only result in damage to the vehicles involved, this is not always the case. Instead, many car accidents result in death and/or serious injury to those involved.
As a bordering state, many of our Maryland readers spend a good amount of time navigating the roadways of Virginia. Generally speaking, the rules of the road are the same and you need to take the same precautions to ensure that you are safe at all times.
A recent accident in Chesterfield, Virginia, lead to the death of one man as well as injuries suffered by three others.
The accident occurred on Courthouse Road at approximately 9:45 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 9, 2013. According to initial reports, a Honda SUV was traveling in the southbound lane when it crossed into northbound traffic. It was at this time that the SUV collided with a Chevy Suburban. As a result of the accident, a passenger in the Honda was killed. Additionally, both drivers of the vehicles, as well as a passenger in the Chevy, were injured and taken to VCU medical Center. All three of these people are in serious condition.
Police closed the road for five hours, giving them time to clear the wreckage and investigate. At this time, the investigation continues.
Due to the error of one driver, a man has been killed and three people in total are being treated at a local hospital for serious injuries. This story is a reminder that you have to be paying attention at all times while on the road, regardless of location or time of the day.
